Medicine Lake Natl Wildlife Refuge

Medicine Lake NWR is located on the heavily glaciated rolling plains of northeastern Montana, between the Missouri River and the Canadian border and encompasses 31,702 acres. Refuge habitats include open water, marsh, and native prairie, as well as previously cultivated lands now maintained mostly in perennial grass.

To film in Medicine Lake NWR, commercial filmmakers and photographers will need to apply for a permit with the refuge’s administrative office using the Commercial Activities Special Use Permit Application.
