She is an artist looking to work more in the film industry. Maya is finishing up her undergrad degree in Art at Utah State University and is looking to study Film for her Masters Degree. Her end goal is to be a Producer and Director in the industry but enjoys learning the ropes through being a PA.

Special Skills & Experience

Stevenson has been passionate about filmmaking since high school, where she worked on her first movie during her senior year. She is a Ski instructor and a River guide which helped her get her first film job. That experience introduced her to the fast-paced and collaborative nature of film production, and has been dedicated to growing her skills ever since. Since then, she has worked on both kids and family movies/tv as well as a horror film, giving her experience across different genres and styles. Currently, she works as a production assistant, a role that allows her to develop a strong understanding of the many moving parts required to bring a film to life. Maya is eager to contribute wherever is needed and has experience in multiple departments, including sound, craft services, art, dog handling, and working as a stand-in.

Working in sound has given her an appreciation for the technical side of filmmaking. Understanding how to capture clear, high-quality audio has been an essential skill for her, as sound plays a crucial role in storytelling. Mayas experience as a stand-in has also taught her the importance of precision and attention to detail. In that role, she learned how lighting, framing, and blocking work together to create visually compelling shots. These experiences, combined with her work as a PA, has given her a well-rounded perspective on film production and strengthened her ability to adapt to different needs on set.

As a production assistant, Maya has developed a strong work ethic and problem-solving skills. Whether it’s assisting with set logistics, coordinating communication between departments, or handling last-minute changes, she understands the importance of staying organized and proactive. Being on set requires flexibility and the ability to anticipate what needs to be done before being asked, and she takes pride in her ability to stay ahead of tasks. Maya thrives in fast-paced environments and is always willing to step into new roles to help the production run smoothly.

Beyond her on-set experience, she is currently studying art at Utah State University, with a minor in entrepreneurship and film studies. This combination allows her to develop creative abilities while also gaining business and industry knowledge that will help her build a career in filmmaking. Stevensons art background gives her a strong eye for composition, color, and visual storytelling, all of which are essential to filmmaking. Meanwhile, her studies in entrepreneurship have given insight into the production and management side of the industry, from budgeting to project development.

Maya is excited to continue gaining experience in all areas of production. Whether working in sound, assisting with camera work, handling logistics, or stepping in wherever is needed, she is eager to contribute her skills and continue learning from those around her. Mayas goal is to keep expanding her knowledge and experience while bringing enthusiasm and dedication to every project she works on.
