It all began with a GoPro he used to capture footage of him and his friends surfing. As time went on he traded up cameras and his passion only grew. In college, he began shooting and developing 35mm film and attributes his time in the darkroom leading to broader subjects of interest and understanding of light. He has an affinity for documenting people and their passions that go against the grain of modern life.
Currently, he works as a freelance photographer, filmmaker, and marketing consultant. Zach runs both Walks on Water Media, LLC and Blood & Water Films with his business partner, Jake Hart.In his analog work, he uses 8mm, 16mm, 35mm (still), and Medium format (still). Digitally, he works with various Leica and Canon SLR & DSLR cameras while utilizing water housings for his surf imagery. For motion, he shoots on his RED Digital Cinema Komodo 6k.He graduated from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX:Cox School of Business - BBA MarketingMeadows School of the Arts - Advertising, Photography Minors
