Seth Dahl is a Montana based freelance camera operator and cinematographer focused on documentary film. His adventure documentary work under Big Cedar Media follows characters on the move in hard to reach areas and tough shooting environments. Seth loves filming Montanans playing with the natural world through outdoor lifestyles like hunting and fishing. He's also interested in how people make a living off the land through jobs such as farming and ranching.
Seth Dahl served in the Montana Army National Guard apart of the 1-163rd Infantry Battalion and deployed to Iraq in 2004. Upon return he studied photography at MSU Bozeman and later transferred to The University of Montana where he received a Bachelors Degree in Journalism. In 2013 Seth started his production company, Big Cedar Media, as an outlet to make documentary films. Currently Big Cedar Media is a Montana nonfiction production company focused on producing narrative-based marketing promotional videos, branded documentary films, and documentary photographs for small business, brand, and nonprofit online advertising. One of Seth's films titled The Long River Home played in major outdoor film festivals throughout the world and won numerous awards. Seth is open to take on full productions under BCM or work as a freelance camera operator for other production companies.
